For the first 7 years, IFFCO's Plant-Based Venture THRYVE will focus on creating a new category of plant-based meat in the GCC that is accessible to local consumers. We aim to implement our aspirational ambition to achieve global parity with plant-based protein share of animal meat, which is estimated at 10% by 2030. We, at TIC, are working on moving forward with this project in the short-term by incorporating recycling bins at our Head office, adding aerators to our water taps to reduce water consumption, switching to LED lighting to be more eco friendly, auditing our consumption are being processed. In addition to collaborating with a specialized consultant in creating this new strategy, we also sought the feedback from the CEOs across the group on the sustainability strategy. Furthermore, 30 other focal points were assigned, comprised of key personnel in strategic departments across the group. We also conducted multiple capacity building sessions with those focal points to administer the necessary ESG & carbon footprint assessments. Finally, the business sustainability department also engages with young staff members who support the implementation of the strategy on a voluntary basis.

This strategy is a starting point for action, requiring new decisions to be taken, improved policies to be adopted, and coherent processes to be implemented. Setting up the Policy included inputs from all different teams at Rakiza, mainly the Investment Team, as they will be factoring in ESG inputs into the assessment of any investment opportunity and throughout the asset management period. The overall team involved included over 20 employees of Rakiza's co-managers. Further, ERM, a global ESG consultant, supported us in developing the Policy, as subject-matter experts, especially within the sustainable infrastructure field.
