Future Architectural Glass (Future Glass), one of the UAE’s leading specialized glass processors, announced its next level of sustainability commitment by signing the UAE Climate Responsible – Sustainable Companies Pledge with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) at the 13th National Dialogue for Climate ambition (NDCA). The event was held on the 23rd of October 2023 in Dubai, hosted by MOCCAE, in collaboration with Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

As a climate–conscious and responsible company, Future Glass is measuring and reporting its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions transparently, developing ambitious science-based plans and decarbonization strategies to reduce its carbon footprint, and sharing these plans with the UAE government to contribute towards achieving the national net-zero target by 2050.

Specifically, the GHG protocol tool guided the company to focus on the reduction of Scope 2 emissions by:

1. Completing, by August 2023, an industrial energy audit and action plan.

2. Planning the incorporation roof top solar installation to the maximum capacity allowed.

3. Waste heat recovery from the furnace to be synchronized with solar power in technical study

4. Committing, through the adoption of technology, to water savings of at least 5% year-on-year.

Future Glass believes strongly that taking tangible steps today to reduce emissions must go hand in hand with its longer-term commitment to NetZero Future 2050
